The NIE Digital Repository aims to organise, preserve and facilitate dissemination of publications and research output of the National Institute of Education (NIE).
NIE Digital Repository
- Contains academic output such as journal articles, conference papers and slides, book chapters, research reports, and NIE journal publications.
- Research reports funded by the Education Research Funding Programme (ERFP) submitted prior to 2023 are generally restricted to NIE staff only, whilst reports from 2023 onwards are generally available for open access.
How To Deposit
- Complete the online self-archival form and attach the file. Files must not exceed 32MB.
- For journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers published in proceedings, please attach the post-print / accepted manuscript version of the work.
- A post-print / accepted manuscript is the version of the Work after peer-review, but which excludes the publisher’s further revisions and final typesetting.
- For a work that has multiple authors, please seek the consent of your co-authors to deposit in the NIE Digital Repository.
- Works deposited are open access by default or embargoed in accordance to restrictions set by publishers. For authors who want to set closed access restrictions to their work, please email your restriction requirements and the work to eprints@nie.edu.sg.

The NIE Data Repository is the institutional open access research data repository for National Institute of Education, Singapore. NIE researchers are encouraged to use NIE Data Repository to deposit, publish and archive their final research data in order to make their research data discoverable, accessible and reusable. NIE Data Repository
- Provides a platform for publishing one’s research datasets associated with published research findings.
- Enables research datasets to be cited by assigning a digital object identifier (DOI).
- Ensures research datasets are preserved for future use.
- Provides different levels of access control: open, restricted, closed.
How To Deposit
- Email us to coordinate the submission of your research data to the NIE Data Repository.
- Only final research datasets associated with the published research findings will be archived.
NIE Visual Memories Collection
NIE Visual Memories is a collection of digital images that depict the life of and happenings at the Teachers’ Training College (TTC), the Institute of Education (IE) and the National Institute of Education (NIE). Its purpose is to archive digitised photographs or digital images of NIE thereby preserving our institutional memories and intellectual capital. The collection serves as a testimony to the collective memorable experiences of the TTC/IE/NIE family and significant milestones of teacher education in Singapore.
