BA Art Exhibition 2023 - Beyond Boundaries: A Journey through Desire and Disgust

Beyond Boundaries is an immersive journey through the realms of human emotion and experience. In this exhibition, we invite you to explore the intricate interplay of desire and disgust, two deeply ingrained and often paradoxical facets of human nature.

Desire, with its magnetic allure, draws us into uncharted territory, unveiling our most intimate longings, dreams, and fantasies. Disgust, in its unrelenting force, can repel us, pushing our boundaries and testing the limits of our acceptance.

This exhibition dares to traverse the fascinating landscape where these two powerful forces collide, intertwine, and evolve. Through a captivating selection of art, "Beyond Boundaries" challenges conventional thinking and prompts viewers to reflect on the complexities that define our relationships, choices, and perceptions.

Each artwork in this collection tells a unique story of attraction and repulsion, exploring the emotional tapestry that colors our lives. Join us in celebrating the beauty in the unconventional, the allure in the unexpected, and the power in embracing the full spectrum of human experience. "Beyond Boundaries" is an invitation to question, discover, and embark on a journey of self-reflection, understanding, and transformation. This exhibition is not just an exploration; it's a voyage of the senses, a journey through the human condition, and an affirmation of the extraordinary diversity that defines our desires and our repulsions.

Beyond Boundaries was exhibited as a limited access exhibition at the NIE Art Gallery, from 14 to 21 November 2023.

BA Art Exhibition 2022 - All That Matters

"Without the hard little bits of marble which are called 'facts' or 'data' one cannot compose a mosaic; what matters, however, are not so much the individual bits, but the successive patterns into which you arrange them, then break them up and rearrange them." ~ Arthur Koestler.

In our everyday life, it’s easy to forget the things that matter most to us. In fact, it’s very easy to take our eyes off the ball completely. These artworks presented offer a diversion from our mundane daily chores, perhaps a distraction for one or time-waster of another to think about all that matters. Creating time and listening to the heart and soul. That is where the matters can be found. We are proud to present a synthesis of ideas and concepts on what really matters to us. So, is that what really matters? It matters, or so it seems.

All That Matters was exhibited as a limited access exhibition at the NIE Art Gallery, from 4 to 17 November 2022.

BA Art Exhibition 2021 - I, Us, Our

'I, Us, Our' is an exhibition that explores the topic of identity through the perspective of artists that come from different backgrounds and life experiences.

This exhibition provides a space to explore and express big ideas and start a dialogue about the big questions that we have about identity. What makes us who we are today? Who gets to decide how we identify? Who are we when no one is watching? Is it possible to truly understand ourselves and each other at the core of our being? Each artist approaches the topic through their own unique point of view.

'I, Us, Our' was exhibited as a limited access exhibition at the NIE Art Gallery, from 14 April to 14 May 2021.

BA Art Exhibition 2020 - 19OVERNINETEEN

19/19 (pronounced 19 over 19) describes 19 unique individuals coming together in the celebration of differences.

In this showcase of unique talent and passion, individuality runs fervent. Every piece speaks for its artist, albeit as a culmination of shared views of and for one another’s creative choices and journeys over the course of nine grueling yet rewarding months.

The term 19 over 19 has been deliberately used to emphasize relevance –the first-mentioned figure directly represents the 19 participating artists, the second mention following the preposition refers to the year in which the COVID pandemic began. Whilst COVID has undoubtedly shaped the circumstances with which the works of art in this showcase have been conceived and eventually exhibited. It is in the persistence of the exhibition that suggests that these 19 artists have indeed over-come the crisis of the ’19.

19/19 was exhibited as a limited access exhibition at the NIE Art Gallery, from 13 to 16 November 2020.
