Facilities

Use of Learning Pod 1 (a dedicated space for assistive technologies) is on a first-come-first-served basis for users with special needs.
Café
The Life-style Café serves beverages and snacks at affordable prices. Users can relax over a cup of freshly-brewed coffee or tea while holding their discussion.
Group discussion roomGroup Discussion Room
Groups must have at least 3 members to use the room. Bookings may be made at the Service Point, by phone or by using designated WebOPAC terminals at Level 2.
Furnished with comfortable sofas and coffee tables, the Lounge can easily accommodate small groups of 6-7 people. You can also catch up on the latest news using mobile apps in each of the four tablets available.
LearningHub@LIBRISLearningHub @ NIE Library
The LearningHub provides a conducive environment to promote a collaborative learning culture in NIE. It includes the LearningHub Lounge, SMART Room, Staff Lounge and Café.
Learning podsLearning Pods
Each of the four Pods can comfortably seat up to six students. The Pods are equipped with large display screens and glass writing surfaces for group discussions or mock presentations.
Listening StationsListening Stations
Two Listening Stations are provided for members to preview CDs before deciding whether to borrow them.
Printers and photocopiersNetwork Printers & Photocopiers
Network printers and photocopiers (NETS Cashcard/NETS Flashpay/EZ Link card-operated) are located on levels 2 and 4 of the Library.
Photocopying Services OfficePhotocopying Services Office
The office provides NETS CashCard and Flashpay card top-up machines, sale of CashCards and lecture notes, laminating services, microform viewing and printing services, and binding services.
Private Viewing RoomPrivate Viewing Room 
This private viewing room is open to library members for the viewing of media materials.
Research CommonsResearch Commons
The Research Commons supports access to scholarly information, and collaborative learning with the provision of 16 workstations.
Users may borrow items at any of the four self-check machines during Library hours.
SMART Room
The SMART (Sharing, Multidisciplinary, Autonomous, Reflective and Technology-enabled) Room is a soundproof environment with modular furniture which may be rearranged to facilitate group work.
Staff Lounge
The Staff Lounge is a quiet corner set aside for staff discussion or brainstorming over a cup of coffee. This is a distraction-free, quiet oasis for reading & reflection.
