The new semester is in full swing, and we trust you are all well-settled in! We hope that you find our library resources useful and that your research is progressing at a good pace.
The Library is not static, but has an ever-flowing stream of updates and upgrades. You may be interested to know that LibDiscover!, our one-stop search tool, has been enhanced, and you can find out more about the changes here. Plus, we have also introduced LibFAQs whereby you can look for answers to your questions, whether they are about your own account or library resources/facilities, etc.
The Library is also a happening place! LIBRIS worked with the Learning Sciences & Technologies (LST) Academic Group to support and host the International Conference of Learning Sciences (ICLS) Poster Sessions, which were well-attended. In a three-way departmental effort, the Library, Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Academic Group and the Director’s Office also joined hands to have selected artworks showcased in the Library. You can read about these collaborative ventures here.
Earlier in the year, we also hosted an Academic Publishing talk entitled “So You Want to be a Writer?”. If you missed it, watch out for the next round in March 2017!
Our Research and Information Services (RIS) colleague Stephanie Ow, who loves children’s books, shares her experiences of the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) held in May.
Finally, we have our regular Life Hacks from the Library column. Find out how to get quick access to your favourite sections or resources!
